About this field manual
Road to Vostok Field Manual is the player strategy hub for Road to Vostok—the hardcore single-player survival FPS on a post-collapse Finland–Russia border.
What we publish, how we verify guides, and where to go for gameplay help versus site issues.
What we publish
The manual is structured around problems players actually search for: weapons and reloading, survival and medical, traders and tasks, map crossings, and the difference between the Steam demo and Early Access builds. The wiki hub holds grouped tables and dossier pages; the interactive world map overlays pins on published artwork; the Start page collects onboarding, PC requirements, and version expectations.
We aim for systems-first explanations: what to check in the UI, how demo vs EA might diverge, and when a claim needs an in-game screenshot or a link to official patch notes—not speculation dressed up as fact.
What we are (and aren't)
We are not Road to Vostok Ltd., not employees of the developer, and not a licensed partner. Game names, logos, and artwork belong to their respective owners. We reproduce small amounts of official material only where needed for commentary and navigation—the same way a dedicated strategy guide would.
- Official sources for purchase, dates, and feature lists remain Steam and roadtovostok.com—we cite them when stating hard facts, not as an endorsement.
- If your installed build disagrees with a guide, trust the client first, then compare with the Start page and the relevant wiki topic.
Editorial policy & verification
Content is written and checked by the Road to Vostok Field Manual editorial team—players documenting Road to Vostok (Steam Early Access since April 7, 2026, Build 1 Road).
- Sources we trust first: your installed Steam build, in-game HUD and tooltips, Steam news / patch notes, and devlogs on roadtovostok.com and the official YouTube.
- How we label pages: wiki dossiers carry a last-verified stamp (Build 1 (Road) · 2026-06-24 at time of writing). Demo vs Early Access splits are explicit wherever loot or tasks can diverge.
- Method: Stats are checked against the EA client HUD, Steam patch notes, and official roadtovostok.com devlogs. Full policy: /legal/about#about-editorial. Report corrections via /legal/contact.
- Corrections: email via Contact with the page URL, what you saw in-game, and your Steam build string—we treat player reports as primary QA.
Accuracy and corrections
Survival sandboxes change with every balance pass. When we state mechanics, loot, or map details, we try to label the context (demo vs EA, approximate build, or in-game HUD checks). Pages that age badly should get updated or carry a clear last-checked note when we touch them again.
